The pictures above are from weeks 11, 12, and 13 respectively. Phillip wanted to join in the fun too and decided that he was a peach as well.
As I enter the last week of my first trimester, I could not be more thrilled. Let’s just say that “peach”, which is what we refer to baby now since it is the size of a peach, has not made me feel peachy keen recently. The good news is that I feel my energy coming back and that is awesome! (Hense the lack of blogs recently, I’ll try to get better.) I went to my 12-week check-up last Wednesday, and got to hear the heart beat… kind-of. If you have ever seen the friends episode where Rachel can’t see the baby on the ultra-sound and gets frustrated and cries, it was a similar situation with the heartbeat, but less dramatic. The good news is that the doc. said it sounded great and that’s really all that matters. Hopefully next time this squirmy little baby won’t hid behind my heartbeat. He also said I only gained 1 pound, although when I returned home I realized I was wearing a chunky necklace that could possibly weight a pound. As I look at this week’s picture, and get dressed in the morning, I feel as if I’ve already gained 5. I officially rubber banded my pants for the first time last week. I must remember this practice for Thanksgiving dinner in years to come. Another good piece of news is that I persuaded the doctor to see me in 5 weeks, which will make me 18 weeks along and able to find out the sex of the baby. Can’t wait till Oct. 6th.
Life besides peach has been a blast. In the past coupe of weeks Phillip and I have attended the weddings of our good friends Cara and Frank Engle and Kim and Danny Goin. It was so great to see good friends and celebrate their futures as a couple. For Labor Day, we are headed to the beach to put our toes in the sand with the Faucette clan. We are looking forward to seeing the ocean one last time just husband and wife.
