Bump update

Weeks 14 and 15 have flown by. In the beach picture from the last blog you can kinda see the little bump that is forming at 14 weeks. But I thought you might also like to see the latest fruit pictures from these weeks.

My 2nd trimester has proven much better than the first. Nausea only comes when I'm not feeding the baby enough food, and the headaches I started to get have subsided. My nose however is a faucet and won't stop running. Baby is still loving Mac and Cheese, Ramon noodles, and milk. And he/she is starting to warm up to sweets, but not too much.

My new favorite things:
My snuggle pillow- Missy lent me the most fabulous pillow that is in the shape of a U, so you feel like your in a cocoon.

Maternity pants- Wore stretching pants for the first time on Friday and they were so comfortable! The elastic is still a little too big, but It felt very liberating.

MooMoos- And oldy, but still a pregnant ladies best friend.

We find out in October if we're having a girl or a boy! Can't wait to be able to start planning.

The beach and Athens, What a great time!

For Labor Day, the bump, Phillip, and I went to the beach to have a family reunion with his Aunts and Cousins. We had a great time and really enjoyed putting our toes in the sand and enjoying our last time at the beach mentally just the two of us. I so appreciated Aunt Debbie's milkshakes and virgin drinks and the V8 Splash shots that Julie made special for me while the others were shooting tequila. I wasn't missing alcohol a bit.

This past weekend we took Clair and Justin, two friends from Memphis who are Arkansas fans but we don't hold that against them, to Athens for the GA Vs. Arkansas game. We had a great time reliving memories and showing them A-town for the first time. Although I didn't partake in the bar scene as the others did, I loved dining at Last Resort, Transmet, tailgating at the house and people watching. Gosh I sure feel old.

13 down 27 more to go

The pictures above are from weeks 11, 12, and 13 respectively. Phillip wanted to join in the fun too and decided that he was a peach as well.

As I enter the last week of my first trimester, I could not be more thrilled. Let’s just say that “peach”, which is what we refer to baby now since it is the size of a peach, has not made me feel peachy keen recently. The good news is that I feel my energy coming back and that is awesome! (Hense the lack of blogs recently, I’ll try to get better.) I went to my 12-week check-up last Wednesday, and got to hear the heart beat… kind-of. If you have ever seen the friends episode where Rachel can’t see the baby on the ultra-sound and gets frustrated and cries, it was a similar situation with the heartbeat, but less dramatic. The good news is that the doc. said it sounded great and that’s really all that matters. Hopefully next time this squirmy little baby won’t hid behind my heartbeat. He also said I only gained 1 pound, although when I returned home I realized I was wearing a chunky necklace that could possibly weight a pound. As I look at this week’s picture, and get dressed in the morning, I feel as if I’ve already gained 5. I officially rubber banded my pants for the first time last week. I must remember this practice for Thanksgiving dinner in years to come. Another good piece of news is that I persuaded the doctor to see me in 5 weeks, which will make me 18 weeks along and able to find out the sex of the baby. Can’t wait till Oct. 6th.

Life besides peach has been a blast. In the past coupe of weeks Phillip and I have attended the weddings of our good friends Cara and Frank Engle and Kim and Danny Goin. It was so great to see good friends and celebrate their futures as a couple. For Labor Day, we are headed to the beach to put our toes in the sand with the Faucette clan. We are looking forward to seeing the ocean one last time just husband and wife.

Welcome!

Hello All! I am so excited to be sharing this blog with you. I've been wanting to put together a blog forever, but decided to push myself to do it after Phillip and I found out that we are expecting! Little baby Faucette will be arriving around March 8th, which makes me exactly 11 weeks today. I am trying very hard to not show, but people at work are asking and a past student's mother even came up and put her hand on my stomach yesterday giving me a look that said, "Do you have anything to say, or better yet hiding in your belly?" At which I responded "Just too much fast food." Needless to say, she didn't believe me. However, I do appreciate people's exaggerated opinion of my previous flat tummy. Above are pictures we have taken along the way. In the top picture I am 9 weeks pregnant! In my hand is a green grape, which represents baby being the size of a green olive. (I hate green olives, so I felt that the grape at the exact same size worked better.) The second picture I'm 7 weeks pregnant! Baby is the size of a blueberry. That is the tiny little dot in my hand. Sorry they're out of order. I'm still learning this blog stuff.

Phillip and I are so thrilled about our new addition. Please remember since we am still trying to hide my baby excitement, to not post anything on facebook.
